WHAT IS A Spiritual Advisor?

A Spiritual Advisor is the umbrella term we use to describe people who work in the metaphysical fields such as: Mysticism, Esotericism, Divination, Auric Scanners, Remote Viewers,  Numerology, Astrology, Life Coaching, Spiritual, Healing and Energy Work among others. They may be Tarot and Oracle Readers, Crystal or Palm readers, Scryers, and readers of Tea Leaves and Coffee Grains. They might call themselves Spiritual Mediums and they might not use tools at all! If you would like more information about whether your skills are suited to REALM - please contact us through the contact form

WHY REALM?

Quite Simply - REALM Spiritual Advisors was founded by a platform worker, who knows the pitfalls for Consultants and Customers.  Caring for Consultants must be our priority. It has a ripple effect. When Consultants feel cared about - they  are better able to care for our Customers. REALM aims to provide premium service at affordable rates for the Customer, and where the Consultant feels financially and emotionally rewarded, living a healthy life balance.

WE CARE! YOU MATTER!

REALM has done everything within its power to secure the privacy and content of the Platform. Our website designers have put hours upon hours into trying to foolproof it from hacking. However, nothing online is guaranteed; consequently, REALM has chosen to minimise the amount of personal information we hold about a person online.
We don't save and share a customer's financial information; this is between the Customer and the payment gateway. For consultants, we do (as part of our legal obligations) retain the information for payments to the Customer and their business details. Details such as email and contact are shared only for business functions. Australian law says personal files and facts must be kept in a locked cabinet (paper copies). Other information is retained on a password-protected secure drive. When we redirect to a third party to conclude Business in the course of Business, we encourage you to read the third party privacy and confidentiality statements.
Regarding personal disclosures around Conflict of Interest (such as the disclosure of criminal convictions), this information is retained on a separate database with restricted access and held private for risk assessment and risk management purposes. Other measures we take is the deidentification of personal nformation on line, discouraging public use of private name, and the personal photos.

Great Question! There are several reasons why REALM should be the Energy Workers' preferred Platform. REALM Management has a combined experience in both Platform work and Social and Humanitarian work. The bottom line is REALM is a business concept by a person who has worked on Platforms as a Consultant and knows the pitfalls for both Customers and Consultants. The business concept protects both parties' fundamental 'rights' to pay for and receive service.

Customers and Platform Workers often experience exploitation within the Psychic and metaphysical industries. REALM is a business bound by Australian laws, including Consumer Protections and working conditions. While Australian law applies to Australian citizens, the principles inform organisational policy, which upholds REALM's mission and values of justice, empowerment and integrity.

These values include our aim to keep costs as low as possible so that we can pass these savings to our Consultants and, by extension, to your Customers. We genuinely care about the people we work with and for.   Our vision includes a platform of brother or sisterhood, reciprocity and empowerment for all. REALM aims to support our community and team to be the best versions of themselves.

We see our Consultants as people with needs who often overlook self-care while caring for others. Our belief incorporates the 'butterfly effect' – whereby through supporting our Consultants, they can help our Customers better. In this way, we can collectively make a positive difference with our customers – assisting them to greater peace and healthier outcomes. Our Consultants matter!

We chose to replace the name "Psychic" because Psychic work is illegal in some parts of the world, and because not all Energy workers consider themselves to be "Psychic", but rather "Intuitives".To advertise as a Psychic can cause legal difficulties in different parts of the world. As a term, it also can diminish the gifts of the 'Spiritual' or Energy worker. REALM aims to support those workers with a well-developed sense of connection and wisdom to work on our Platform. Our platform workers often provide spiritual support and mentoring to our customers. Within the context of Business - we refer to them as our' consultants.

To understand the vision,  one must first understand what empowerment is. Empowerment is becoming stronger and more confident, especially in controlling one's life and claiming one's rights. However, 'power' often depends on the environment or place in which a person lives. People's lives and autonomy are influenced and impacted by multiple factors, including politics, weather, finances, etc. It is simply impossible to be entirely physically empowered – people and events around them affect even those in leadership positions. However, the common thread with empowerment is the recognition of the limitations of power- and that we cannot usually control others or events. There is a process of questioning why we would try. If we were to try and influence others, what is the intention behind the action, and is it a misguided use of power?
While we may have limited or no ability to control external circumstances, we can control HOW we react to those events and occasions. Ultimately Power is about having choices and options. Healthy choices and actions generally lead to better opportunities in the future, especially when attempting to manifest or live the 'best version of ourselves. When people are provided with choices and options – and manage to self-regulate their emotional and psychological processes, it is possible to live in peace regardless of the external environment.

The empowerment approach is about fairness, justice, respect – and human rights. These fundamental human rights accommodate a 'family' approach to life in recognition that we are all part of a much larger spiritual family. It is the spirit of 'brother and sisterhood' and the acknowledgement that what we do to one person – we do to the whole. It is an ethos of "do unto others as you would have them do unto you". Furthermore, REALM values are underpinned by humanitarian ideals. We recognise that to provide integrity of service delivery to our customers. We must provide a working environment for Consultants that is supportive and empowering to them. Consultants often struggle to maintain a balance in their lives and to 'live well, because 'gifting' is part of their core values. Historically psychics and energy workers who gift tend to sacrifice their own needs and become vulnerable to unscrupulous third parties who exploit them. We want our consultants to feel valued and an important part of our 'family/team'. We know that even the best families and teams can experience internal conflict within relationships, and we would like to support our members in navigating disputes. REALM Management consists of individuals who are not profit-driven (although the Platform obviously must cover costs and make a profit). The motivation for the Platform lies in humanitarian care and positive regard.

We start first with the process of empowering consultants. Our platform workers are offered choices and freedoms around the service they deliver and how they deliver them. Our business/working arrangement is one where we are, to some extent 'business partners. REALM includes the Consultant in our Business discussions and decisions. Legal obligations and responsibilities are accessible to both the consultants and the customers. Parties are provided with appeals mechanisms if they perceive that REALM has been unjust in their decision-making.
Customers have a Consumer Protection Policy that they can refer to, and Consultants have a Human Rights Policy and other policies to support safe work conditions. REALM  provides support to our consultants to manage their business and professional responsibilities. Transparency is a crucial aspect of empowerment. While we offer person-centred support to Consultants, this is part of our Intellectual Property. Applicants

REALM empowers consultants in much the same way as it empowers the Customer. However, Consultants are empowered to improve their financial situation, and maintain a healthy work life balance. REALM provides opportunity for flexible and family friendly work hours, and independence around fees and so forth. Furthermore, REALM offers transparency, collaboration and opportunity for ongoing personal and professional development. Consultants are provided with a toolbox to informational resources. They will ultimately have access to practical solutions to problems in their physical life.

Thanks for asking - and Yes, there are:
 1. Applicants MUST be at least 18 years old, the age of a legal adult in Australia.
 2. Applicants MUST provide THREE references: Character, Professional, and Work. (An inability to provide a business reference should not be a barrier to an application).
 3. Applicants MUST provide their own Professional Indemnity and Public Liability Insurance. (we may be able to help source some for you if you don't already have them).
 4. Approved Applicants must undergo an international Criminal History check upon request. (A criminal history does not necessarily preclude a person from working on the Platform. REALM will conduct a risk assessment on criminal history. Consultants who are unsure should disclose their conviction history at the interview stage, if not before).
 5. Applicants are required to sign a Non-Disclosure Agreement BEFORE proceeding to the Interview stage.
6. Applicants must return the signed Terms of Use before proceeding to the Interview stage. (The Terms of Use is not the work contract- it outlines expectations around Conduct and summarises organisational ethos and policy).
6. Applicants must complete a skills demonstration (especially if

REALM is an Australian business, and under Australian law, people under the age of  18 are determined to be  'minors' and under the age of legal consent. REALM has obligations to ensure minors' protection, including protecting them from harm (litigation or vexatious allegations). Equally, customers must be over 18. This restriction partially protects young people from exploitation by unscrupulous workers who may have slipped through our screening processes. It also protects young people learning to set spending limits from building financial debt.

You will need to provide three references: Business, Character and Customer. You will need to authorise REALM to contact these referees. Please speak with REALM at the interview stage if there is a problem providing any of these references. We understand for some workers; this will be the first time they have gone into Business. It is not the end of the world – talk to us at the interview.

A police check is about Quality Assurance, Operational Integrity and Occupational Health and Safety. Consultants will not necessarily have to provide one before commencing work. However, you will be required to sign in terms of Use that you agree to REALM conducting a police check on you if requested. International police checks include specific forms you MUST sign to complete them. Refusal by a consultant to allow REALM to conduct an international police check creates an unacceptable level of risk for REALM and its associates. It will result in the termination of the business relationship.

A criminal conviction does not necessarily preclude a person from working on the Platform. REALM has discretion around who it accepts as an applicant. People with a criminal conviction must disclose them upon application OR at the interview stage. We respect that if you have a criminal history that is not current, you might not want to put the details in writing. However, YOU must disclose these convictions before starting on the Platform so that REALM can conduct a risk assessment. Under Australian law, REALM can not discriminate against someone with a criminal history. The process of non-discrimination has to be measured against our Consumer Protection obligations and duty of care. We know that sometimes people can have made mistakes in the past that have proved costly to them throughout their lives.REALM will assess each situation on its own merits and identify if we can put protections in place for all parties (including the applicant). Failure to disclose the convictions to REALM to allow us the opportunity of identifying the risks is perceived to be a denial of our rights to create a safe working place. Any disclosure of historical convictions  AFTER a person has commenced with REALM will result in the revocation of Platform Rights and the termination of our business relations.

The current state of the world suggests that it would be unwise not to use Insurance. Litigation can be costly - even if allegations are vexatious, there is still a requirement to defend yourself, which can be very expensive. REALM has its Insurance, and as part of keeping our operational costs low, we share a burden with the Consultants, who take out their independent Insurance. If REALM were to insure each Consultant of the Platform - we would have to pass these costs onto the Consultant in the fees we charge to them. The insurance policies that Consultants have can protect them in their work offline as well, and Consultants should explore the scope of any insurance they source. While it is an initial outlay, it is more money in your pocket and increases your work options.

Within our industry, the typical risks might include allegations of false advertising or misconduct or not receiving the service they paid for (or expected). Other risks might include Intellectual or Copyright breaches. While that might sound overwhelming - REALM mitigates most of these risks through our operational procedures, policies and processes. Consultants can access our policies in their Dashboard, the Terms of Use, and Codes of Conduct. We provide additional information to successful applicants on navigating risks. We also recognise that there is no 100% foolproof guaranteed protection against litigation. Hence, we insist that our consultants have their own Professional Indemnity and Public Liability Insurance. We have attempted to put protective mechanisms against litigation as best we can.

You will need to take out Insurance for Public Liability and Professional Indemnity. You will need to establish from your insurer what you are covered for under each policy as it can vary from insurer to insurer and country to country. Public liability insurance can cover compensation claims if a public member sues you for injury or damage. In contrast, professional indemnity insurance can cover compensation claims if a client sues you for a mistake you make in your work. [Simply Business UK). https://www.simplybusiness.co.uk/insurance/faq/public-liability-vs-professional-indemnity-difference/. In Australia GIO states:

  • Public Liability and Professional Indemnity cover different types of risks.
  • Public Liability covers your legal liability to pay compensation for injury or damage to property caused to a third party in connection to your Business. For example, if a customer slips and trips while on your business premises.
  • Professional Indemnity, on the other hand, protects against the risks associated with providing advice or recommendations to clients. For example, a customer could sue you for damages if it's alleged that your advice has caused a loss.

Consider your business has customers visiting your premises, and you also provide advice or recommendations to those customers. In that case, Public Liability and Professional Indemnity Insurance may benefit you. https://www.gio.com.au/faqs/business-insurance/difference-between-public-liability-and-professional-indemnity.html

You might be able to claim Insurance as a tax deduction, and your Insurance can also be used if you operate independently from the REALM platform.

Where you obtain Insurance will depend on your country of residence. However, REALM may be able to point you in the direction of Insurance. Some insurers will only insure in certain countries. Other times, the nature of this industry means that a consultant can obtain "Entertainer Insurance". You will have time to get the appropriate Insurance before commencing on the Platform. We will compile a list of potential insurers for our consultants to access.

Complaints are bound to happen – it is impossible always to make all people happy. As an Australian business REALM has obligations to provide a customer complaints process and complaints investigation process. The legal requirements ensure that the Consultant (or the person complained about) has a right to respond to allegations before making a decision. The principles of fairness and justice will underpin REALM decisions.

Professional Conduct is the way that we conduct ourselves in a business transaction. People are paying for a service and expect a certain standard within the service delivery. Professional Conduct relates to the 'profession' that a person works in. REALM is a business platform that connects to how you, the Consultant, behave within the business context. REALM has provided several resources to assist you in maintaining your professional integrity.

The Terms and Conditions are outlined in 2 seperate legal documents:

1. Mutual Understanding AGremeent

2. the Terms of Use. The Terms of Use is the legaly required document that must outline rights, repsonsiblities and remedies for breaches of repsonsiblities if they occur. It is quite the Tome to read (and was arduous to write up), but it is part of Fair Work Conditions for our Consultants, protecting their worker rights and ensuring that REALM retains its operational integrity.

Yes, they do. REALM has expectations around how they use the Platform, provide feedback and treat Platform Workers. While they have Consumer Rights – our Consultants also have the right to expect an emotionally and psychologically safe workplace. REALM is responsible for ensuring that anything that might breach the rights of the consultants (or the general public) is removed. Customers who operate outside their guidelines will have their rights to use the Platform revoked. All of this is clearly outlined in our Policies, which you will be able to access.

In Australia, we have anti Discrimination laws. We can ask the question, but people with Disability are not obligated to answer the question. When someone identifies with a Disability, REALM must try to provide appropriate workplace support or demonstrate that providing support would create unreasonable hardship for our organisation. As humanitarians with the empowerment ethos, REALM would like to support people with Disability as much as possible and recognise that we can't offer guarantees. Applicants should remember that REALM is a newly established business, and we may not have the means to support them immediately, which may change in the future.

In most instances - Yes. This will be conducted at the interview stage. You are not expected to provide free in-depth readings or demonstrations, but you will be asked questions for you to respond to.

No, they aren't. REALM Consultant Advisors are "Independent SubContractors", and our business relationship is a form of 'Strategic Partnership". What this means in the simplified version is that our Consultants are self-employed. REALM provides a platform for them to deliver their services and other relevant information to support them in meeting their independent business goals. REALM takes care of the administrative aspects, collects customer payments on their behalf, and markets and promotes the Platform to increase customer traffic. Our business relationship meets the criteria of a "Strategic Partnership" . We have a shared mutual understanding of our roles and responsibilities. We also have a shared purpose and goal (vision and values). This agreement is outlined in a Mutual Understanding Agreement [MUA], a type of  "Employment Contract" document.

The MUA differs from an Employment Contract. It must be mutually beneficial for both parties and primarily outline the business relationship's financial aspects and legal obligations. Either party can terminate it without notice and penalty. Once we receive your signed NDA - we will send you a copy of the Terms of Use so that you can establish if you agree with our values. You will then be able to choose whether to proceed with your application or withdraw it. Successful applicants who have passed the Interview stage will receive a copy of the MUA for signing before they can commence on the Platform.

Good Question. Yes  - the prospective Consultant must sign the Terms and Conditiosn and the Mutual Understanding Agreement [MUA]. Under Ausrtralian law the the MUA must be beneficial to both parties. You wil find that the MUA is fairly straight forward, and successful applicants receive a copy of it to be signed and returned before commencing on the Platform.

REALM empowers consultants in much the same way as it empowers the Customer. However, Consultants are supported to improve their financial situation and maintain a healthy work-life balance. REALM provides the opportunity for flexible and family-friendly work hours and independence around fees and so forth. Furthermore, REALM offers transparency, collaboration and opportunity for ongoing personal and professional development. Consultants can access a toolbox of informational resources. They will ultimately have access to practical solutions to problems in their physical life.

Additionally, we are exploring a wide range of mechanisms to assist the Consultant in achieving their goals. The way we support our consultants is part of our IP, and you can ask questions during the interview.

You decide what hours you work. You have a calendar where you can put in your regular hours and take days off when you want to. You can also vary your shifts as you wish. We ask if you are prepared to commit to regular hours to ensure that the platform has 24-hour coverage and to identify recruitment needs for a  'global platform'.

Excellent question. Quite Simply - No. REALM pays its taxes and Business running costs, and REALM can't know the global tax requirements. Consultants are independent business operators responsible for paying their taxes and associated business costs.
As a responsible and legitimate business, we request that Consultants with a registered business provide their business details to REALM. REALM does provide a means for Consultant Tax Accountants to calculate appropriate taxes. REALM does not act as a tax agent, collecting tax on behalf of other parties.

REALM recommends that Consultants get advice from a Tax Agent or Accountant in the land where they live – business costs may be a tax deduction.

While this is naturally the first question any potential Platform worker will ask, the answer remains confidential until we receive the signed NDA. Suffice to say; we plan to be VERY competitive. We have spent a lot of time on cost-saving measures to minimise the platform costs and enhance the profit margin for consultants. The only fee REALM plans to charge  Consultants is the commission for working on the Platform. Think of it as hiring a room at a physical venue. Rather than pay weekly rent on the property/room, you rent the space for a few hours at a time (at your discretion). The commission is a set % of your generated income. To keep our competitive edge and enhance platform longevity, REALM aims to keep our commission as low as possible without compromising operational integrity.  it is essential that we make some profit however to cover costs such as those listed below:

  • Platform Construction, Maintenance and Development
  • Administration and Consultant support
  • Customer Service
  • Marketing and Promotion
  • Third Parties, technology and Website Development
  • Compliance Management.
  • Ongoing Professional Development
  • Other (as identified)

This information is given in the Interview. You have discretion and choices around payment frequency.

Applicants are encouraged to read the following Terms of use which has been summarised. A  more concise version is availble in the Consultant Dashboard, accessible to Consultants, and successful applicants will recieve a full copy of the Terms and Conditions when they receive their Mutual Understanding Agreement. Australian law is comprehensive, and at times very complex. Human Rights, Consumer Rights and Work rights are protected under a variety of laws. To accommodate our legal obligations – we have created policies and procedures for the customer, the Consultant and REALM Administration. These policies are a duty of care to each of us, that to the best of our ability: protect the customer from exploitation, protect the consultant from litigation and exploitation, and protect REALM Spiritual Advisors from litigation, exploitation and retain a competitive edge over the market. Successful applicants are provided with the Full Terms of Use, and their Mutual Understanding Agreement. They are summarised as below:

  1. Agree to uphold the Mission, Vision and Values of REALM Spiritual Advisors.
  2. Consultants have read and agreed to the Consumer Protection Policy (in the REALM Footer).
  3. Status of the business relationship (Employment) with REALM is an “Independent Business Operator”
  4. You are responsible for your own business associated costs including any tax and superannuation.  REALM does not reimburse any business associated costs unless renegotiated and as part of the MUA.
  5. Consultants have autonomy to select their own: Work Days, Work hours, take leave, or suspend their profiles at their discretion.
  6. Consultants agree that the business relationship can be terminated at any time without notice by either party.
  7. Consultants agree to the following:
    • Ensure that their technological equipment is functioning well and to test their audio and video before commencing work each shift.
    • Ensure that any work that they conduct is done from a suitable work environment, absent of any third parties who might be present, and will not record the services they provide.
    • Consultants will ensure that their conduct is professional, which includes appropriate personal presentation.
    • Consultants will adhere to the Code of Ethics, and refrain from telling customers to take a course of action, they will not provide medical or financial advice to a customer and they will refrain from any form of ‘spell casting’, or conduct that may have harmful consequences to the customer and meet  the definition of ‘unconscionable conduct’ in the consumer Protection laws.
    • Consultants will not solicit any REALM customers, or refer them to independent businesses outside of the REALM platform, or to their own business and if they are found to have done so, the business relationship with REALM will be immediately terminated.
    • Consultant profiles are DE identified as part of REALM obligations to occupational work health and safety standards, and Consultants will not place photos of themselves, or their family members on their profiles. Equally the consultant will use a ‘moniker’ as part of deidentifying themselves.
    • Consultants will provide REALM spiritual Advisors with a copy of their public liability insurance and professional Indemnity insurance prior to working on the platform,  or where agreed and negotiated with REALM within four weeks of commencement.
    • Consultants wishing to refer to a formal qualification in their own country (such as a Bachelor’s degree or Counselling Qualification) MUST provide a copy of these qualifications to REALM. When referring to their qualifications on their profile – they MUST stage the country that the degree was obtained. Failure to provide the documentation will result in REALM administration removing references to the Qualification, because of Consumer Protection laws and risk of false advertising.
  • The consultant agrees to inform REALM of any conflicts of interests (real or potential), that might impact negatively upon the business of REALM Consultants recognise the Customer right to formalise a complaint against a consultant, and that all customer complaints will be investigated, and the Consultant is included in the investigation process.  Consultants have a right to respond to allegations.

8. The consultant has the right to complain to administration about the conduct of a customer and the feedback they have left on the wall. REALM will only remove Profile feedback and ratings if it is in breach of the Telecommunications, occupational health and safety laws.

9. The consultant understands and agrees that during the process of complaints investigations REALM Spiritual Advisors may in some instances request a video, audio or written transcript of a call as part of reviewing evidence and decision making.

10. The Consultant agrees to protect the Intellectual Property and Copyright of REALM and its Associates and any information that is obtained by the Consultant during their work with REALM is confidential and private.

11. Policies may change without notice to ensure that organisationl practice is in alignment with legal obligations.
